What is Skating Academy

This program is by invitation only (new inquiries please email to schedule an audition if you feel this program is for you)

Our Skating Academy program has been designed for skaters who show a desire, talent, dedication and an interest in figure skating. It is taught in a group format.
On ice and off ice training are two important components of this program.

Skaters must first audition for the program through the Program Director or be recommended by one of our ISC coaches while in Canskate. Team coaching, jump technique, spins, off-ice, theatre on ice, edge class, games and prizes are all a part of the Skating Academy Program.

The program follows the CanSkate curriculum of combining a fun and enthusiastic atmosphere, as well as focusing on learning the quality basic of figure skating.

What to bring:

• Skates (no rentals)

• Skating dress/skirt, tights, or form fitting pants,

• warm fitted jacket or sweater (best with no hood)

• Warm gloves

• Leg warmers optional

• CSA helmet (until stage 5 is passed)

• Yoga Mat, Runners and Water Bottle for Off Ice
